Overview
The Clinical Case Consultations provide an opportunity for trainees to present their own sandtray clinical cases with clients for purposes of receiving input and feedback from the consultant. The intent for these consultations is to help trainees enhance and develop their sandtray skills. Of the 8 required case consultations, 2 of them need to be video tapes of a clinical case. A case summary is available for these consultations and may be submitted prior to each consultation to help focus the intent and outcome of the clinical work.
Trainees working toward Sandtray Certification need to complete all 8 of the Clinical Sandtray Case Consultations after their application for certification has been accepted. Application for Certification may be submitted after completing 60 contact hours of core training. Either of the consultation categories are recommended any time after Levels 1 & 2 even though they may precede the time frame of the Sandtray Certification requirements.
